Forbes 30 Under 30 list includes Aionics Fortnightly guests Dr. Nicholas Grundish and Shashank Sripad
Forbes released 2023’s 30 Under 30 in Energy list last week, and it included two guest speakers from the Aionics Fortnightly series: Dr. Nicholas Grundish (Ep. 27) and Dr. Shashank Sripad (Ep. 21).
Dr. Nicholas Grundish is the Vice President of Battery Technology at Energy Exploration Technologies Inc. where he leads the technical and business development of their lithium metal battery business. He earned his Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin under the supervision of Professor John B. Goodenough, Nobel laureate and co-inventor of the Li-ion battery. In Episode 27 of Aionics Fortnightly, Dr. Grundish spoke about the mission of EnergyX, his time working under the legendary Prof. Goodenough, and his view on sodium-ion batteries.
Dr. Shashank Sripad’s academic research at Carnegie Mellon University focuses on modeling, simulation, and testing of Li-ion and Li-metal batteries for electrified terrestrial and aerial mobility systems. His work has been featured in Forbes, WIRED, MIT Technology Review, Quartz, Axios, and other media outlets where he also regularly critiques developments in the electric mobility and Li-ion battery space. In Episode 21 of Aionics Fortnightly, titled “Powering the Flying Cars of the Future”, Dr. Sripad discussed his analyses of battery requirements for electric aviation.
